The UK Local Authority Pension Fund Forum (LAPFF) and CCLA Investment Management are co-leading the Transition Plan Vote initiative, aimed at holding the UK’s largest listed companies to account.
Both organisations are calling on institutional investors to sign up to the initiative, which will write to FTSE 100 companies that have yet to offer shareholders a vote on their climate transition plans.
This builds on last year’s campaign, which was backed by investors representing £1.6trn in assets under management, including Church Commissioners for England, Downing LLP, Achmea and Brunel Pensions Partnership.
Now in its fifth year, and ahead of the 2026 annual general meeting (AGM) season, the initiative brings investors together to urge UK-listed companies to put their climate risk and resilience strategies to a shareholder vote.
While the first year of the campaign targeted all UK-listed companies, the focus has since narrowed, ensuring the UK’s largest firms demonstrate accountability on climate risk. Last year’s campaign approached 76 FTSE 100 companies.
