Environment Agency Pension Fund (EAPF), a £4.9bn local government pension fund, has announced a new private equity commitment aimed at funding the transition towards low carbon supply chains.
The fund, which has joined the LPPI pool this month, has invested in Ardabelle Capital's Ardabelle I fund. The Paris-based manager specialises in the decarbonisation of supply chains by targeting mid-market companies set to benefit from the transition to a low-carbon economy.

"This investment aligns with our belief that, in the long-term, we will generate better financial returns by investing in companies and assets that demonstrate they contribute to the long-term sustainable success of the global economy and society," EAPF said.
"In the future, we are looking forward to working with LPPI to implement our investment strategy and seek new opportunities that align with our investment beliefs and commitment to long term responsible investment," the fund added.
