Guinness Global Investors, a London-headquartered active fund manager, has launched a new Global Environment Fund, offering investors access to a concentrated portfolio focused on food, water, climate, waste and land.
The fund will invest in 30 equally weighted holdings using a quality-focused approach to equity investing.
It will be co-managed by Jordan Patel and Jamie Melrose, both of whom have longstanding experience in sustainable and thematic investing.
Patel previously spent more than 12 years at Federated Hermes, where he served as deputy fund manager on the Biodiversity Equity strategy and as a senior equity analyst on the Impact Opportunities Fund.
Melrose was previously the senior investment analyst for the Guinness Sustainable Energy strategy. Before joining Guinness, he worked on the sell side at Berenberg as a thematic equity research analyst specialising in battery technology, and at Railpen as an investment manager in sustainable ownership.
The fund will be benchmarked against the MSCI World and is an Ireland-domiciled UCITS vehicle. Its top ten holdings currently include Taiwan Semiconductor, Elis and Atlas Copco. It is available in GBP, USD and EUR share classes.
