Investors welcome Air Liquide’s net-zero strategy
A group of investors (Nordea Asset Management, OFI Asset Management and Trusteam Finance) has welcomed the climate-related progress made by Air Liquide, a company involved in the production and distribution of industrial and medical gases. The three investors lead the engagement with Air Liquide as part of the Climate Action 100+ (CA100+) initiative. They indicated that, in response to investor questions at its latest annual general meeting, Air Liquide had clarified that its 2050 net-zero target and strategy covers Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions. In addition, the company has aligned its capital expenditure plan as well as its risk management and lobbying positions with the Paris Agreement. According to the investors: “These answers provide clarification on the company’s ambition to align its business activities to the goals and timelines of the Paris Agreement. We are pleased to underline the steps that Air Liquide has taken to demonstrate further industry leadership in support of the goals of the Paris Agreement.”
