Nestlé outlines strategy to reduce emissions from dairy inputs
Food conglomerate Nestlé has outlined a strategy to target emissions from its leading raw material: milk and dairy ingredients. According to the company's announcement, there are over 100 pilot projects underway across the globe which includes 20 farms planning to hit net-zero emissions in "the near future". Nestlé's strategy takes into account two additional stakeholders – dairy farmers and consumers – each of whom have a variety of interests with regard to lowering emissions. Mayank Trivedi, head of the dairy strategic business unit at Nestlé, said: "We believe it is possible to step up sustainability in dairy and even go to net-zero. We will take a leadership role in advancing positive change with all those working along with us in the dairy supply chain."
