Scotland government pledges £30m to assist low-income households make switch to electric transport

The Scottish government has announced £30m in funding to support individuals and households in their switch to low-emission transport. According to the statement from Transport Scotland, the funding includes “support for zero-emission community transport and car clubs in addition to funding interest-free loans for electric vehicles. This approach is designed to support more people and households on lower incomes to make the switch to electric”. The funding also has a just transition focus, with prioritised funding being extended to households in rural areas as well as businesses that use light commercial vehicles in their operations.
