Welsh pension fund appoints Capital Dynamics to manage £50m clean energy investment
Asset management firm Capital Dynamics has been appointed to manage Clwyd Pension Fund’s £50m investments in Welsh clean energy infrastructure. According to Capital Dynamics, this partnership builds on the firm’s experience in investing in European clean energy since 2013 and building 30 projects across the UK with a combined capacity of 1GW. In addition, it adds local ownership to clean energy assets in Wales. Clywd Pension Fund has assets under management approaching £2.5bn and is administered by Flintshire County Council. Barney Coles, co-head of Capital Dynamics’ Clean Energy said: ““We are delighted to support Clwyd Pension Fund on their mission to facilitate locally owned clean energy infrastructure and support Wales’ drive towards net-zero. The recent commitments from the Welsh Government to accelerate the roll-out of new renewable energy capacity has made Wales one of the most attractive markets in Europe for clean energy investment.”
