COP28 podcast: PRI’s Tamsin Ballard and David Atkin share their highlights of the event
With the COP28 climate summit in Dubai in full swing, Net Zero Investor caught up with two prominent delegates, David Atkin, the chief executive officer of the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and the organisation's chief initiatives officer, Tamsin Ballard, to discuss the key issues and topics that attendees at the conference are talking about this week.
For Ballard, this year's COP28 has been dominated by the increased awareness of the interconnectivity between nature positivity and finance with transition planning and nature positive investing becoming key themes throughout the event.
"We need to connect all these pieces together, we cannot reach net zero without tackling biodiversity loss and we cannot tackle biodiversity loss without reaching net zero" she argued.
Atkin emphasised the need for more collaboration between private finance and policy makers, with a new taskforce chaired by PRI being launched to help address the issue.
